A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Overall, the webinar was very helpful. Having also attended in January 2026, I could see Psych Scene’s commitment to continuous improvement being put into practice, particularly through the new pre-course material on question structure.

Making MEQ Questions Easier to Approach
Working through past exam questions was highly relevant and valuable. I especially appreciated how Dr Rege identified common patterns across questions, making them easier to approach and less overwhelming than viewing each as a completely different scenario.
Clinical Wisdom Delivered with Humility
Dr Sanil’s teaching method—including his humility and openness to feedback—draws on a gold mine of wisdom from years of clinical experience and exam teaching.
Helpful and Effective Teaching
The teaching was very helpful.

Dr Rege has excellent knowledge and delivers it in a way that is easy to understand and follow. His teaching also instils confidence.
Engaging, Exam-Focused Course Content
The course struck a really good balance, covering the content while engaging with past exam-paper vignettes in real time.
Invaluable MEQ Exam Preparation
I passed the MEQ exam on my first attempt. The weekend course was invaluable. I took time to read and plan, used key buzzwords from the stem, and applied the structure taught in the course. The lived experience question initially caught me off guard, but using the structure, I was able to dissect and brainstorm my response. The course was incredibly helpful, and I have recommended it to my fellow registrars.
Invaluable Support for MCQ and MEQ Exam Preparation
Psych Scene has been invaluable in helping me pass both my MCQ and MEQ examinations this year. Dr Rege’s explanations of key concepts across psychiatry are always well structured and easy to follow. The critical analysis videos, in particular, were excellent at breaking down what can initially feel like a jargon-heavy area for the MCQ, helping me feel less overwhelmed by those questions. The live MEQ course was also excellent for ensuring we had the right balance of breadth and depth in our answers, which really helped refine my exam technique. I appreciated being able to ask questions and receive in-the-moment feedback, including examples of different ways to approach question stems. The marking was also very helpful, as it provided constructive feedback and a more experienced perspective on my answer style. This helped me identify domains I needed to remember to cover. I would absolutely recommend Psych Scene to other registrars preparing for exams.
MEQ exam success
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Dr Sanil Rege for his teachings. The MEQ course has helped me pass the MEQ exams with a great score. His clear explanations, structured approach, and emphasis on clinical reasoning and understanding the questions were invaluable in helping me prepare for the MEQ exams.
Confidence, Clarity, and Clinical Reasoning: A Game-Changer for MEQ Success
I highly recommend the PsychScene MEQ (Modified Essay Question) preparation program to any psychiatry trainee preparing for their exams. Dr. Sanil Rege’s teaching style is engaging, structured, and incredibly insightful. He has a remarkable ability to break down complex clinical scenarios into clear, manageable frameworks that are not only useful for exam preparation but also highly applicable in day-to-day clinical practice. One of the most helpful aspects of the course was Dr. Rege’s new approach to tackling MEQs, especially when it came to navigating the often-confusing wording in exam instructions (describe, discuss, justification, etc). His method simplified what initially seemed like convoluted tasks, helping me focus on the clinical reasoning and structure of my answers rather than getting lost in semantics. The MEQ course is thoughtfully designed, focusing on high-yield content and strategies tailored specifically to the format of the RANZCP exams. Dr. Rege emphasises clinical reasoning, formulation skills, and diagnostic clarity—all essential components for success in MEQs and real-world psychiatry. The use of case-based learning, visual aids, and structured templates significantly enhances both understanding and retention. What sets this program apart is Dr. Rege’s genuine dedication to improving trainee performance and confidence. His passion for psychiatry and education is evident throughout the course. The feedback, tips, and clinical pearls he provides are invaluable. Thanks to this program, I felt much more confident approaching the MEQs and gained deeper insight into clinical reasoning that will benefit me throughout my career. It’s an investment well worth making.

MEQ 3
The MEQ/CEQ course was a great way to change usual patterns of thinking from a narrower focus into a broader perspective, which allows for good exam preparation as well as good day-to-day clinical decision making which incorporates modern evidence-based guidelines.
MEQ 2
Just writing to say that I passed my essay exam!!! Over the moon considering the pass rate was only 32% and it was my first attempt. I think your course was absolutely essential in gaining me the pass. Your post-course resources covered at least 50% of the exam questions so that meant I had good responses ready to go for those questions! Your course also gave me a great framework in order to attempt the new questions on the exam. Thanks again and I am referring all my colleagues.
MEQ 1
I wanted to let you know that I passed the Essay-style written exam on my first attempt. I do sincerely believe that attending your course has had the lion's share in this. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the exam questions and how well your course was exam-focused. Thank you.
